Colin Lawrence Sykes, known simply as "Col" to the rest of the Band, provides the solid foundation for The Afterglow, that the rest of the Band so desperately need. When the rest of the Band fall apart in front of him, Col always (sometimes) manages to do a drum roll to get them back on track.

Anyone who has ever seen The Afterglow, will know what a superb drummer Col is. The ease with which he plays disguises the complexity and sheer brilliance of his performance.

From Cross Hills, this shy and unassuming man is the one our female fans adore. In a recent poll of The Afterglow's female fans, (which consisted of asking the wives of Steve, Scott, Lofty and Dunc), Col got all 4 votes on being the most shaggable Afterglow Band member.

Some Coltastic Facts: 

Col, joined the Afterglow in late 1998, after original member Peter Yates quit the group in mysterious circumstances. Known to Lofty for a number of years, where they played together in the waist-coated Strong Beer Band, Col had just returned from a year living, working, and befriending Aussie girls, well any kind of girls really, in Australia, when The Afterglow vacancy appeared. Col was the man and the rest is history.
